Purchasing this Damage Waiver reduces the excess to zero for all cars and SUVs. The excess is reduced to 250 EUR for small cargo vans and for medium it is reduced to 300 EUR. With the DW the excess is 1500 EUR  for smaller vehicles and 2500 EUR for standard vehicles.  It's ideal to check if personal coverage is sufficient for potential costs before opting for DW.

The National Car rentals places an authorized hold on your credit car at the time of rental. This hold covers the estimated rental charges plus an additional security deposit. The deposit amount varies: 

 
  • Forr Mini, Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard, and People Carrier the deposit is 250 EUR
 
  • Cargo vans require a deposit of 500 EUR
 
  • Elite, Fullsize, and Convertible categories need a 1000 EUR deposit.
 
  • For Premium and Luxury Cars, the deposit is 2000 EUR and must be charged entirely on one credit card.

National Car Rental accepts all major credit and debit cards provided by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.However, prepaid cards, Maestro, Visa Electron, V Pay, cards marked for electronic use only, and cards issued by neobanks are not accepted.

If the renter does not buy fuel package when renting the car and returns the car with less fuel than was initially provided to them, they have to pay a refuelling service fee to National car rentals. This expense is the distinction in fuel levels (from begin to end of the rental) multiplies by the fuel cost recorded at the branch, in addition to a 15 EUR refueling charge. 

 

In case of electric vehicles, if the renter returns the car with less charge than what was initially provided to them, a a recharging fee applies.
